Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Gather materials for the DIY PVC Bowstand / Caddy
You will need:
- 3x 10-foot-long ½-inch schedule 40 PVC pipes
- 1x 6-foot-long ¾-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe
- 14x PVC elbows (6 of them should be ½-inch, 8 should be ¾-inch)
- PVC cutting tool
- 2x 3-inch PVC T- connectors.
Step 2: Cut the PVC pipe
Using the PVC cutting tool, cut the 3x 10-foot-long ½-inch schedule 40 PVC pipes into 2x 5-foot-long pieces and 1x 3-foot-long piece. Cut the 6-foot-long ¾-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe into 2x 3-foot-long pieces.
Step 3: Assemble the frame
Using the 8x ¾-inch PVC elbows, assemble two 3-foot-long vertical frames. To each frame, attach two 5-foot-long horizontal pieces using the remaining 6x ½-inch PVC elbows for a total of four 5-foot-long horizontal pieces. Using the 2x 3-inch PVC T- connectors, connect the two 3-foot-long vertical frames together in the center.
Step 4: Test the DIY PVC Bowstand / Caddy
Before you add the finishing touches to your Bowstand / Caddy, it is important to make sure it is structurally sound. Test the frame for wobbling or instability. If it is securely standing, you can move on to the last step.
Step 5: Add a cover
Adding a cover is an easy step to make your Bowstand / Caddy look more polished and professional. If you have some left-over fabric that matches the colors of your bows, you can use that to cover the frame. If not, you can buy fabric that is designed for PVC covers.
With a few pieces of PVC pipe, a few basic tools and a little bit of elbow grease, you can easily construct your own DIY PVC Bowstand / Caddy. This simple structure can securely hold and transport multiple bows. Additionally, the addition of a fabric cover can give it a professional look. With the Bowstand / Caddy, you can transport and store your bows with ease.
