Comparing a 2004 Hoyt bow against a comparable 2019 model, it is difficult to determine with certainty which one is better. Bows can get better in some areas over time and remain the same in other areas. Still, there are a few key factors to consider when comparing bows of different years, such as accuracy, draw weight and length, bow safety, and arrow construction.

Accuracy
Accuracy is one of the most important aspects to consider in comparing bows, and a 2004 and 2019 model can have vastly different levels of accuracy. In general, newer bow models are more technologically advanced, so they tend to be more accurate than older models. They may also have silencers, stabilizers, and sighting systems, which can greatly increase accuracy.
Draw Weight and Length
Draw weight and draw length are two other key factors to consider in deciding which bow is better, and they can have a large impact on accuracy. Generally speaking, a 2019 bow should have a higher draw weight and a longer draw length than a 2004 model. This can give a bow more power and consistency when shooting, which can help with accuracy.
Bow Safety
Bow safety is also an important factor when comparing bows. There have been many advances in bow safety technology in the past 15 years, so newer models are typically safer than older models. This is due to improved cams, limb pockets, and risers, as well as safety features such as limb stops and anti-dry fire systems.
Arrow Construction
Finally, arrow construction should also be considered when comparing bows. Newer arrow models are typically made of advanced materials, such as carbon fiber and graphite, which provide greater strength and durability compared to older models.
In conclusion, it is difficult to definitively say which one is better, a 2004 or a 2019 bow. The newer model may have more modern technology and safety features, but it still depends on the specific model. It is important to compare a 2004 and 2019 model of the same brand and make to determine which one is better for your needs.
Is My Old 2004 Hoyt Bow As Good As My New 2019!??
A look at three different years of Hoyt bows.
2004 Hoyt xtec/xt1000 36 1/2 ata @ 72 lbs Letoff 65%
2011 Hoyt Rampage 33 ata @72 lbs Letoff 75%
2019 Hoyt RX3 Ultra 34 ata @ 82 lbs Letoff 85%
The age old question, does my 2004 compound bow stand up to a new bow?? A lot of people would argue no, and even more would argue absolutely! I think the biggest difference between 2004 and 2019 is overall performance, speed’s, back wall, weight of the bow so itself and SOUND!
The 2004 is an older are still great Bows and will still take down an animal just as easy today as they did back then. Today I think it comes down to more preference than anything mentioned above. Of course these are my personal opinions.
