Instructions
1. Assembling the Bow
- Open the package and check the instructions that come with the bow. All of the parts should be included, such as the riser, limbs, string, arrow rest and quiver.
- Attach the limbs to the riser using the provided bolts. Make sure the bolts are securely tightened. Be careful that the limb alignment is consistent with the instructions so the bow will be centered correctly.
- Attach the arrow rest to the riser, ensuring that it is in the correct position for your child and that the tension is properly set.
- Attach the quiver to the riser in the desired location, tightened securely.
- Attach the string to the limb tips, and tighten the bowstring’s knots securely.
- Using a bow stringer, attach the stringer to the string and the limbs of the bow. Carefully pull the bowstring and limbs into the proper position. Be careful not to exceed the draw weight recommended for the bow.
- Remove the bow stringer. Check that the bowstring is securely fastened and not distorted.
2. Setting Up the Sight & Arrow Selection
- Attach the sight, using the provided mounting hardware, to the riser. Adjust the position of the sight until the pins are clearly visible.
- Select the appropriate arrows for the bow. Arrows should be matched to the draw weight and draw length of the bow. Check the manufacturer’s information for the correct length and size of arrows for the bow.
- Nock the arrow to the bowstring and use a finger tab or glove to protect the fingers while shooting. Have your child practice drawing and releasing the bow without an arrow first to get comfortable with the weight and release.
3. Safety Precautions
- Always wear safety glasses when shooting an archery bow.
- Ensure that the arrow rest and nocking point are properly placed and correctly adjusted.
- Never shoot an arrow at a target that is too close. The arrows should always be fired at least 15 yards from the target.
- Check the arrows for damage before each shoot, especially if they have been used before. Damaged arrows can cause cost injuries.
- Make sure that the bow is in good condition and undamaged before shooting it. Repair any damaged parts or replace worn pieces.
With the correct assembly and safety precautions taken, your child is now ready to experience the thrill of shooting archery with their new Apex Rookie Youth Compound Bow. Start with a few low-weight shots at the practice range before using the bow with any real weight for competitions. Enjoy an archery life with your Rookie!
