From the fast and accurate Stinger 3G up to the high performance yet affordable 2020 Stinger Max, PSE Archery has provided an impressive lineup of bows that appeal to both novice and experienced shooters alike. Mike's Archery recently had the chance to take PSE's Stinger Max out for some range time and take a good first look at this 2020 bow and share our opinion on it.

Speed, Balance, and Adjustability
When it comes to fast bows, the Stinger Max certainly does not disappoint. It has an axle-to-axle length of 29 inches with an impressive 354 FPS IBO speed. The Stinger Max is incredibly smooth when shot and it’s balanced design helps keep the bow steady during the draw cycle. PSE also includes a set of limb dampers to further cut down on vibration, making it a nice choice for anyone looking for a quiet ride.
The Stinger Max is also incredibly adjustable. The draw length can range anywhere between 21-30 inches with a draw weight that can range between a tiny 40 lbs to a huge 70 lbs. PSE's lightweight Pocket Cam and PowerShift technology help make the adjustments a simple affair.
Riser and Limbs
The Stinger Max is built on a sturdy aluminum riser that is sure to stand up to most kinds of abuse. It has stylish but effective reflex riser cutouts that help keep your peep sight aligned. It does not include mounting holes for a stabilizer which some shooters may find disappointing, however, the weight of the bow makes it feel very manageable.
The slightly longer 60” split limb design gives the bow a very compact feel while still providing more than enough power. As expected, the limbs are built to last and come backed with a lifetime guarantee.
Other Features
The Stinger Max comes out of the box ready to shoot. The bow includes a comfort-oriented grip, a D-Loop, an integrated Mod-style rest, and several customizable strings. Shooters can swap out the strings, add a newsight, rest of their choice, and their favorite peep sight and be good to go. So whether you’re entry-level archer or a seasoned hunter, the Stinger Max has plenty of features to make it an excellent choice.
Overall
Overall, Mike’s Archery found the PSE 2020 Stinger Max to be an impressive bow that offers superior speed and stability. The bow can easily accommodate most shooting styles and is incredibly adjustable, making it perfect for shooters of all levels. Add in the fact that it comes ready to hunt and there’s little doubt that the Stinger Max will become a long-time favorite among PSE fans.
In conclusion, PSE has outdone themselves again with their Stinger Max. This bow offers great features and performance at a very competitive price. There’s no doubt that the Stinger Max will be a popular choice for archers of all walks, so make sure to give it a try if you’re in the market for a strong, reliable bow.
