Making the Main Base
The main base of the PVC Bow Caddy is the foundation for the entire process. The needed components are two equal lengths, 1/2 inch PVC pipe, four short pieces of 1/2 inch PVC pipe, four 1/2 inch elbow connectors, two 1/2 inch tees, and four 1/2 inch end caps. The length of the pipe depends on the size of the caddy needed but can range anywhere from 18 inches to 24 inches. Once all parts are cut and assembled, the pipe should be painted to the desired color.
Lines & Loops
Once the main base is assembled, the next step is to build the lines and loops that the bow will hang from. The lines should be made from 1/8 inch stainless steel or galvanized steel wire and should measure 72 inches in length. The loops should be made from using a 2-inch piece of the same wire. Make sure that each loop is tightly wrapped into a circular shape before connecting to the PVC pipe.
Connecting the Lines & Loops
The loops are connected to the pipe using small parts. Start by drilling a 1/8 inch hole through the top and against the side of the pipe. The first loop should be connected directly opposite of the first, and then the other two loops should be connected between the first two loops. After all the loops are securely attached, the lines should be connected to the loops in the same fashion.
Adding Finishing Touches
Finally, the finishing touches must be added. A drink holder can be added to the base by connecting a plastic container to a length of 1/2 inch PVC pipe and attaching it to one of the tees on the caddy. Foam padding can be added to the loops to protect bow strings and other gear. Finally, any other features desired by the crafter can be added to customize the caddy for specific needs.
