The 2019 World Archery Youth Championships (WAYC) took place in Madrid, Spain, from July 22 to July 27. Over 500 young archers gathered from 60 countries around the world to test their skills in various events. On the final day of the championships, competitors participated in the Live: Compound Cadet Team and Individual Finals.

Competition Structure
The team finals of the competition saw teams of four archers shooting at the compound 18-meters target inflated with air. Each archer shot four arrows and the total combined score determined the winner of the match. The individual finals followed the same format, except each archer was competing alone.
Participants
In the team event, teams from different nations competed against each other. Among them were: China, India, France, Austria, Mexico, Turkey, USA, and many others. In the individual event, individual competitors from around the world tested their skills and knowledge of archery.
Results
At the end of the competition, the Chinese team and Indian team tied for first place in the compound cadet team event. France and Mexico placed second and third respectively. The individual event was closely contested as the two top scoring individual archers from China and India tied with a score of 583 out of 600. The Chinese archer, Wei Bingkun, was declared the winner based on the tie-breaker rules of the competition. The second place archer was Mukesh Kumar from India and the third place archer was Mathieu Yart from France.
