Tip 1: Use a Habit Tracker
The Benefits of a Habit Tracker
A habit tracker is a tool which can be used to track all the habits you are trying to form. When I started to use a habit tracker, I was able to see a realtime progress of my habits, which provided me with motivation and encouragement. Not only that, but a habit tracker also lays out all your habits nicely in a calendar, which makes it much easier to access and stay on top of them.
How To Use a Habit Tracker?
Using a habit tracker is easy and straightforward. All you need to do is set up your habit tracker and enter in as many habits or activities as you would like to track. Entering the activities you want to track is the easy part, but the difficult part is to make sure you’re consistent and checking in on your tracker every day. I suggest setting up reminders or alarms to prompt you to check in on your habit tracker or set specific time blocks during your day for checking in.
Tip 2: Create Motivation Mantras
What Are Motivation Mantras?
Motivation mantras are positive affirmations or messages that you can repeat to yourself over and over again in order to stay focused, motivated, and reminded of why you’re pursuing a goal. These mantras can be anything from “I can do this” to “Everyday is a new opportunity.”
How to Create a Motivation Mantra?
Creating a motivation mantra is easy. All you need to do is identify what it is that you want to focus on and put it into your own words. After you have your mantra, it’s important to write it down and put it somewhere that you can see it everyday. This could be on a post-it on your computer or on a mirror in your room. Whenever you feel unmotivated or discouraged, take a few moments to read your mantra.
Tip 3: Break Your Goals Down Into Small Steps
Why Breaking Down Goals is Important
When it comes to forming habits and reaching our goals, we tend to get overwhelmed by the thought of completing the entire task all at once. Breaking down our goals into small achievable steps makes them more manageable and less daunting. It helps us to stay focused and motivated as we work our way towards reaching our bigger goal.
How to Break Down Your Goals
Breaking down your goals is as easy as identifying the primary goal and breaking it down into smaller tasks. Start by making a list of all the steps that you need to take in order to reach your primary goal and try to break down each step as defined as possible. For example, if the first step is “Research the market”, break it down further into smaller tasks such as “Analyze competitors,” “Interview customers”, and “Look into the market trends.” Having the smaller, more manageable steps outlined makes it easier to stay on task and to complete the goals one step at a time.
Forming a habit and completing a goal can be a difficult journey, but with these 3 form tips, it becomes much more manageable and achievable. Writing down your goals and breaking them down into smaller tasks, creating motivation mantras, and using a habit tracker are all easy and practical ways to stay on track and motivated towards your goal. By following these steps, I was able to make progress and reach my goals more easily and successfully.
